Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront

The service was AMAZING, and the indoor pool was amazing too. Even though it was snowing outside, the water temperature was good. The coffee in the room was super delicious. I wish I remembered its name so I could buy it anywhere. We were there for an appointment with HGV, and the location worked well for that. Some things in the room need updating, and a few dresser drawers wouldn’t stay shut, no matter what we tried. We also weren’t big fans of the locked-off doors. Going in and out of the room felt kind of uncomfortable. We’ll definitely return on our next Virginia Beach visit.

The beach view is breathtaking, and the person in the parking garage was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The room had a comfortable chair, which I appreciated since I often get up early to watch the ships come and go. But the rest of the experience disappointed me. I’ve stayed at lots of Hilton hotels over the past two decades, and this location fell significantly short. The front desk staff seemed overwhelmed when we arrived, possibly because of a weekend event, and could use better customer service skills. We were on the eighth floor in a room with one King-sized bed. It had a large hole in the carpet, fraying carpet, and a broken door on the heater/air conditioning unit. There was black mold in the shower, rust stains on the bathroom tiles, fingerprints on the windows, marks on the lamps, chipped sheetrock, a broken outlet with live prongs exposed, and an unknown substance on the wall beside the bed. I’ll try to add my photos.

My wife and I love visiting this amazing property. It has a beautiful location, clean rooms, and great food. I recently had the honor of working with Candice. Her clear communication, kindness, and hospitality are what make this place a must-stay. She’s the kind of person you want to retain and reward. We’d been looking for a place in the area that would make us want to come back, and I think we’ve found it. On our first stay, Candace at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating, getting us the room preference we hoped for. The hotel is impeccably clean and has a great atmosphere. We also went to Catch31 for drinks and apps, and the bar staff were incredible. We were very pleased with the whole stay.
