The room was so filthy that I packed up and slept in my car for the rest of the night. There was residue on the floors and surfaces, enough to leave visible footprints and handprints. The carpet was torn, the windows were very dirty, and there wasn’t even a curtain. I also found different stains on the sheets, and the room was infested with bed bugs. The parking area was tiny, with pillars between spaces that made it hard to turn the car. The elevator came out onto the street and was dirty. Before that, the online photos had already looked much better than the actual place, and seeing an employee move towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies near the street beside renovation work gave me a bad feeling. When we called, their tone made it seem like they didn’t care and nothing would change. I’ve never had a worse hotel experience. Save your money and do not stay here.

The room smelled old and funky as soon as we opened the door. We found several holes in the walls, mold in the bathroom, a loose toilet paper holder, and light fixtures that didn’t work. We had to fiddle with a bulb just to get one light on. One bed was right by the A/C, blowing air in our faces, so we moved it. A foot on the other bed was broken, making it tilt when someone lay down, and they’d propped it up with a piece of wood. At check-in we were told the elevator only went to the second floor because it wasn’t working, so we had to walk up to our floor. We asked to change rooms, but were told the manager was out and there were no other rooms. The next morning the manager still wasn’t there. My family and I had a terrible experience. Stay away; you’ll regret it.

The staff were pleasant, but the room was awful and unclean. The floors hadn’t been vacuumed, and panties from the previous guest were still hanging on the back of the door. There was mold on the shower walls, dirt packed into the carpet, and big stains on both the sheets and the washcloths and hand towels. The light between the beds had been ripped off the wall and not replaced. The freezer and kitchen area were dirty too. Someone had kicked in the door and patched it with a board, but it still didn’t feel secure.

ZERO STARS SHOULD BE AN OPTION. For $29 more up the road, there’s a beautiful, clean motel with really nice staff. We were only told after booking that there was no elevator. We had to climb one flight of stairs, which was easier than some of the other stairs, but I had two disabled women with me who both have RA and OA. The room was gross. The pillows weren’t covered properly, and there was a dirty rag they tried to pass off as clean. It had a black hair on it, and we’re all redheads. There was also a moldy towel under the sink. Staff came up and cleaned, then we asked for an extra pillow and were told to look in a drawer. There was a roach in it. My mom didn’t believe me at first, but pulled out the drawer, saw it, and took pictures. You can see a photo of the bug on Booking. We gathered our bags and left without even staying an hour. When my mom showed the picture at the front desk, they didn’t argue and refunded us.

Our room had a kitchenette and a separate living room and bedroom. The hideaway bed turned into a comfy couch for watching a little TV before bed, and both the shower and beds were great. We were paying less than $100 a night and were under two blocks from the beach. The one thing that kept getting in the way was the worn electrical outlets, which wouldn’t hold a plug. It’s under new ownership and management, and I’m expecting a lot of room renovations to come.
