Homewood Suites Virginia Beach

The suites feel cozy, like a home away from home, and work really well for families or longer stays. Staff are always welcoming and kind. Kids and pets have a great courtyard, and the pool and hot tub are the best. We love this hotel.

The staff are friendly and pleasant, and if you happen to get a good room, you’ll love your stay. But across a couple of rooms over more than a month, I saw no consistency from management. Sometimes there were cooking utensils, sometimes not, and the same went for the remote. Breakfast was fully stocked and served on only a handful of mornings, and whether it was cooked properly was hit or miss. The air unit might smell funky or have black mold growing on it; the room might be cleaned properly, and the door lock might work. Maintenance and daily operations clearly aren’t being supervised well.

Bed bug warning, don’t stay here. I’d been in bed less than an hour when bugs bit my face, neck, and arms. I was awake around 12:45 a.m. and had to leave to find another hotel. I’m a Hilton Honors member and am very disappointed. On Thanksgiving I was itching, searching for new clothes during the holiday, seeing my virtual doctor, getting medication, and suffering. I have photos and videos to prove it. The woman who checked me in was very kind. They offered another room, but I couldn’t stay. The bugs were alive and huge, looking like roaches.

I was here for work and found the room nice, with a couch and separate bedroom. The furniture was a little old, but clean, and the beach was about a straight 20-minute drive away. The people were friendly and everything was very clean. I enjoyed the hot tub, though the pool was too cold for me. The kids didn’t seem to mind and were swimming in it.
