For a short stay, the price is hard to beat, and the beach is only about three minutes away. Staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was refreshing, and the clean beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean too, with plenty of fresh towels, and the fridge and microwave both worked. The place is a bit run-down and definitely isn't five-star, but some paint and a little care could make a difference. Still, it is what it is, and the room had a nice view.

I had to pack up my two kids at around 2 a.m. and make five trips up and down because there were no carts. I was crying in the car afterward, exhausted and trying to find somewhere else to stay before my daughter’s competition the next day. The woman at the desk did refund me without an argument or trying to move us, but it took days to clear, and my money was tied up all week. We couldn't enjoy our trip. The saddest part was seeing so many little children staying there with their families, unaware of the conditions. By the next night, our room at the Neptune was rented to someone else. I felt it should have been condemned. The room was filthy: bug larvae were under my pillow, one mattress was brown at the corners, old, worn out and falling apart, and the other had white crusty stuff on it. The ceiling was stained and peeling, bathroom bulbs were out, and the curtains were nearly falling down. Hitting the entry light switch shut off power to the TV, fridge, microwave, and lights across half the room. There was no beach view at all. A sign said breakfast was no longer offered, and another said the pool wasn't working. The parking lot was dark at night, with hardly any lighting; the office was easy to miss and basically connected to a Mexican restaurant. There were no automatic doors, no carts, and nobody offered help while we unloaded two kids and another adult. The only elevator I saw for the whole hotel was tiny and felt sketchy. It was the worst hotel or trip with children I've ever had. The Best Western Plus, which is oceanfront, cost less than this run-down place.

We could hear a small concert across the street from our balcony, which was awesome, and the rooftop pool had an even better view. The balcony view itself was great too. They let me check in an hour early, though the room wasn't ready, so the kind cleaning lady let us leave our bags while we went out to explore. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I booked two months ahead for Memorial Day Weekend, but when I arrived the owner told me they were overbooked. She said there should have been an email, though I never got one, and somehow she managed to fit me in. The room was okay, but the air conditioner didn't cool properly. The bathroom was dirty and the locker was dusty. The elevator smelled bad and had sand everywhere. The owner seemed to be handling everything herself and didn't seem concerned about the hotel's hygiene. Wifi wouldn't work in the room, so I had to take my laptop to the lobby. A cheap rate doesn't make this worth it. Overall, a horrible stay.

From our third-floor balcony, the beach view was awesome, and the inn is right across the street from the beach, with shops and restaurants easy to reach. Parking was sufficient and convenient. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean, though extremely small. There are balconies for the rooms. The building felt dated and pretty neglected. The elevator reeked of urine, the walkways were dim and a bit dirty, and the carpets had lots of dirty spots. There were holes in the room walls, some of them seeming intentionally cut, and paint was coming off badly. A ball of pet hair was left on the floor beside the bed; the big lamp didn't work and its base was badly rusted. A sign at the front desk said the pool wasn't accessible and breakfast was no longer served. Our key also had trouble working on checkout day, before checkout time. For one or two nights just to sleep, it could do. For a longer visit, I'd think twice.
