Lakeshor Motor Inn

For an affordable stay, Lakeshor Motor Inn has the basics covered. The rooms are simple, very clean, and well maintained, with what you need to feel at home. The staff stood out for being warm, attentive, and ready to help. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly place with cleanliness, convenience, and genuine hospitality, it’s a great choice.

There are lovely nature trails, lakes, and parks nearby, and one dock stretches out over a lake with clear water where you can see fish below. There’s also a grocery store within walking distance. At the hotel, the front desk gentleman was kind and helpful, and our reservation and payment went smoothly. We’d booked ahead without paying and settled up on arrival. The building looks older but has had recent updates. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the TV, refrigerator, and freezer all worked well. There were chairs on the balcony, plus complimentary bottled water and snacks in a little basket that our kids loved. The only issue was that the air conditioning didn’t cool the room as much as we expected. We brought in a box fan and were fine. We’d stay again when passing through.

The room was decent, clean, and had good amenities. The location was convenient, close to a park. But the woman who helped us was rude and tried to refuse us a room because we arrived after office hours, even though we’d paid in advance.

The lakeside path into downtown was really nice, and we could walk to food and drinks. We stayed here on the way to Voyageurs National Park. It was affordable and friendly, and the A/C had already been turned on when we arrived on a hot day, which was appreciated. It’s not the Ritz and I didn’t expect it to be. I’d stay again.
