Prairie Rose has something for everyone. You can camp, stay in a room, bring a camper, or just come by as a local. They offer breakfast, and Rosie’s bar and grill is great for food and drinks. Each room is different, the staff are wonderful, and I’ve stayed here a couple of times. I’d come back again, 10/10. Try the wraps, sandies, apps, and salads. Great stop!

The place was ultra clean and well kept, and the bed was super soft. Both of us slept like babies. For my first stay somewhere like this, I think it’s the best of its type, and you did a fantastic job. Much better than the Swing Bridge in Moline KS. We were only here one night while crossing Kansas. The room we thought we’d chosen wasn’t the one we got. We were too tired to do much about it, but we checked the photos and went back to confirm. The decor didn’t match what we expected. As a nurse of 35 years, I notice the feel of a repurposed facility, and the overhead bed light, echoing hallway, and very bright light in the middle of the room felt too much like an SNF for me. Sorry.

Our larger family loved having the option of a room with three queen beds, the “Coyote” room. That’s refreshing when so many chain hotels are set up for families of four. The place has the feel of Cracker Barrel meets Texas Roadhouse, with Midwest charm. Credit to the local owners for thinking big and creating a hotel, restaurant, campground, and gathering space. I can imagine the back patio with live music being the place to be. It means a lot to stay somewhere where the employees are so invested in what they offer.

We stayed from Christmas Eve, Wednesday, through Friday night. The room, #1 -Cyrus, was much smaller than we expected, so next time we’ll choose a larger one. It had just one chair, and it was almost too small for me. The larger rooms with a king bed or double queens actually have sitting areas with couches and/or recliners. The bed was very comfortable, and there’s a washer and dryer guests can use. They looked to be free. This is a cute little inn, especially if you like antiques and rustic decor. On Christmas Day there was no restaurant or food readily available except at the gas station, though Prairie Rose Inn left cookies and scones for breakfast, along with coffee and hot cocoa. On the other mornings, the attached restaurant served breakfast, which wasn’t included. I’d stay again.

The staff were friendly and even checked whether they could make me a gluten-free dish. We enjoyed the firepit, and the restaurant and bar were excellent. My husband and I had a wonderful stop on our way to Colorado. Our room was cozy and clean, and breakfast and coffee were great too.
