Waconia Inn and Suites

My fiance's boss sent him there, but he left in under 20 minutes. The place was filthy, with stains everywhere, and who knows what they were. There was also a smell of Marijuana and cigarettes all over. Thank God there's a much cleaner hotel a little way from this place.

The rooms are always clean, the linens were clean, and our bed was comfortable. There was plenty of hot water too. It's an older property, so don't expect the hilton, but they're updating rooms and putting in new mattresses. The ladies who run the place are amazing and always work it out so we can get in when we visit our kids in Minnesota. We love this place and the ladies who run it.

I spent five nights at Waconia Inn & Suites while dealing with personal issues and not knowing how long I'd need a place. They were patient while I took things day by day, and let me pay one day at a time. It's a small team, but they work well together and make the motel feel friendly and homey. It's not a luxury hotel, but I was comfortable and the staff made me feel welcome. I'll keep them in mind whenever I need somewhere to stay.

The room was clean and better than I expected, but the beds were very hard. The air conditioner kept shutting completely off at random, with no lights, and I had to turn it back on. It ran until about 2 am, then seemed to switch off about once an hour. It wasn't reaching the set temperature. There were only two small, flat pillows, almost like having none. I couldn't find anyone in the office at 8 am, so I left the keys between the sliding windows. We didn't eat the free breakfast, though it looked like cold cereal. I reserved a king, but was given a queen and told the price was the same. Looking online afterward, I saw a queen was cheaper, though not by much, so I still paid for something I didn't get. The pot smell hit me before we even entered the lobby and was overwhelming inside. We waited for someone to check us in, and the staff were sitting out front smoking. The parking lot and surrounding area looked run down. I don't usually mind much about hotels, cheap or expensive, since they're mostly just a place to sleep, but I didn't have a good feeling when we pulled up. It was only for one night, and I wouldn't stay again unless I had to.
