Historic Faye Properties

We stayed in the Taro suite, which was roomy, clean, and good value if you want to explore the canyon. The AC worked well, and the small fridge and coffee pot were all we needed. There’s a microwave in the shared area. The older building didn’t bother us, and getting our keys after hours was easy, left in a lockbox. It was quiet, and we didn’t hear other guests, though the roosters are everywhere on Kauai. The inn is right in the middle of town, close to lots of shops and restaurants. I’d stay again.

We were here for one night in September 2025, and the room wasn’t clean enough. The dishes were sticky and had hair on them, there was soap scum built up around the tub and shower, including the curtain, and the windows were dirty. On check in day, which was a travel day for us, we got emails, texts, and calls about checking in. We answered all of them, but when we finally reached someone, she didn’t know about our replies. That felt disorganized for a business.

We loved the old character of this historic home. Our room was lovely, quiet, and clean, with a couple of fans and AC. There’s a large porch with comfortable chairs, and an excellent smoothie place only a few minutes away on foot. The beach is half a block away and beautiful for a walk. The water looked turbid, though, and I didn’t see anyone swimming there.

We spent a night here during a road trip. Our suite was spacious and clean, and the place is conveniently close to Waimea Canyon and the dock for boat tours to the Napali Coast. Getting the keys was a bit of a hassle, though. Check in and check out weren’t very smooth, and we had to walk a few blocks to the main office to pick them up.
