We arrived late after a long day of travel and found out at check-in that the elevator was out. The only room available was on the fourth floor, which we couldn’t use because my husband is handicapped and can’t manage the stairs. The staff said the elevator had been down, but no one had called or emailed us beforehand. If they’d told me earlier, I could have booked somewhere else. Instead, we were stuck in the lobby with no solution, and the staff offered excuses instead of helping us find another hotel or giving a real apology. I’m very disappointed. With this lack of communication and regard for accessibility, I’d suggest staying elsewhere.

The rooms are roomy and clean, and the lobby is well kept. Staff were friendly, and the location is handy for restaurants, shops, and gas stations. There’s free freshly brewed coffee by the entrance, plus accessible parking at the front and rear and wheelchair-friendly access. There’s no breakfast, just lobby vending. Buying anything from the machine was confusing: you have to scan a code, download an app, and set up an account. It’s a ridiculous hassle, and guests deserve an easier option. We ended up going to McDonald’s, about a mile away, for breakfast.

I used to choose this hotel whenever I came to Wake Forest, and I spent about a hundred nights here in 2025. The elevator broke in early 2026 and was still out two months later. There’s not much accommodation nearby, and nobody warns you, so I have to ask at check-in. Most times I’ve ended up downgrading to get a lower floor. It’s really disappointing. I hope they fix it soon, but I’ll stay somewhere else.

The room itself was excellent, but I barely slept because the refrigerator was so noisy. There wasn’t breakfast, and the coffee machine stayed broken the whole time.

My fiancé and I booked a suite months ahead for the time around our wedding nearby. On the morning we were due to check in, the hotel told us our reserved room wasn’t available. They’d waited until that day to let us know and had no other room, exchange, or refund options to offer. I got a full refund and luckily found a nearby Airbnb that cost less and was much better. I’d double-check with this hotel before a future stay to make sure your room is actually available.
