The Maxwell House Bed and Breakfast

Quiet, comfortable, and convenient. Each unique room has everything you need, and the full breakfast is beautifully prepared every morning. I can’t say enough good things about the experience!

We were in the large suite at Maxwell House for two nights during a wine event weekend, and it felt completely like home. The king-size bed and full sitting room were very comfortable. Penny was a great host and served fantastic breakfasts. She also makes a very large cookie for each guest, which was a lovely afternoon snack. My wife and I loved our stay and look forward to coming back next time we visit Walla Walla.

We were lucky to find this beautiful room at The Maxwell on the day we booked. Penny, the proprietor, was gracious and got us settled straight away. The B&B is beautifully appointed, and Penny’s wonderful hospitality takes the experience to another level. The college area is lovely. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and walking around to see the historic homes. We felt completely comfortable and welcome at The Maxwell, and would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Penny. Breakfast was delicious, and your warm hospitality is unforgettable.

Penny and the Maxwell house made the place feel like home from the moment we arrived, with warm communication, a lovely greeting, manicured grounds, and thoughtful decorating. The decor captures the period beautifully and gives the house its distinctive character. We stayed in the spacious Rose Room, which was comfortable, private, and relaxing. We came mainly for Walla Walla wine tasting, but the breakfasts were another highlight. We were there for spring release weekend and made connections we expect to last a lifetime. We spent hours talking about parenting, school, family, wine, travel, and even camping ;). The house sits by the Whitman College Campus, with blooming dogwoods and beautiful architecture. Downtown is walkable, with dinners, shopping, wines, and more wines. If you’re lucky enough to book at the Maxwell House, you’ll want to plan your next visit as soon as you can.
