Stardust Motel Wallace

Walking into town was easy, and we found plenty of little shops. We loved the pizza at the Flying Goat, and they even offer a gluten-free crust. The Stardust was also a great fit for our two-day ski trip, about 20 minutes from Lookout Pass, and very affordable. Booking and paying online made check-in and check-out quick. Our room was cute, tidy, and didn't have any odd smell. They supplied shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and a hairdryer, plus coffee and a machine. The fridge and freezer were bigger than most I've used, with plenty of room for our giant ice packs. I can't say enough good things about this little motel.

The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, the linens seemed brand new, and the heater kept up with the cold outside. I was delighted to find a pink fridge, too, for this "Make mine pink" girl! It's an older motel, but the renovation has been done to perfection, right down to the new tub, toilet, and sink. Thanks for all the care in the room. We enjoyed our stay!

The makeover is incredible. The place has a seriously dated look that could've come off as seedy, but instead it feels cute, with bright bedding and adorable Nostalgia Electrics appliances. We joked it looked like it ought to have a coin-operated Magic Fingers(tm) bed and a 19" Zenith TV. They joked around with the shampoo pricing, $15 a bottle if you steal one, but at least it wasn't bolted to the wall.

Retro style, spotless rooms, and really nice sheets and towels. I think that was the most comfortable motel bed I've ever slept in. The staff were unbelievably friendly and welcomed my dogs, too. The weather was lousy, so we missed out on using the fire ring and having smores. Still, I loved the Stardust and will stay here every time I visit.
