Bay Lake Tower At Disney's Contemporary Resort

Staying on property made getting to the parks so easy, and the early and late entry hours added a lot to the Disney experience with our young kids. We had a two-bedroom villa, and the service was quick, friendly, and helpful. I left my AirPods behind, but within an hour of checkout I had an email about a lost item report and could give them my address for return shipping.

We loved being able to walk quickly to MK, and it was nice that this was the first monorail stop on the way home. Getting to the main lobby was easy, too. The castle view from our deluxe studio theme park view room was breathtaking, day and night. The room was clean and cutely themed, though a little more space would have been nice. We could hear the fireworks late at night even with the doors shut, but everyone else was so “disney tired” they slept through them. Great food and location, and we’d stay again.

For $1275 a night, BayLake Towers didn’t feel worth the price. The location is handy for walking to Magic Kingdom, and the monorail and bus stops are a short walk over at Contemporary. But the hotel didn’t feel especially Disney themed, and the fireworks and water parade made it VERY noisy at night. From our fourth-floor room, we couldn’t see either, just a big palm tree. We booked a two-bedroom villa at BayLake Towers through a Disney TA for four adults and two kids under nine. We’d asked for a high floor on the south side with a lake view, but got the fourth floor on the north side instead. The room had recently been renovated, but the king bedroom AC didn’t cool, the TV in the queen bedroom didn’t work, and the dryer barely heated. Even a small load took at least three cycles. We gave the front desk all the details and nothing was done. The TA had also said the “free luggage tags and discount offers” were no longer mailed by Disney but would be given at check-in. We brought it up then, but nothing happened. I got the impression guest service thought we were DVC members rather than guests, though I’m not sure. If we go again, we need a two-bedroom villa, but we’d save $10K and stay off property. The Disney bubble didn’t feel worth spending that much extra.

Everyone took care of us from the time we arrived until we left. We needed towels every day because we both have skin sensitivities, and the staff were happy to help. Everyone was courteous, friendly, and ready to answer questions. We had a wonderful stay and would book here again or recommend it to friends and family.
