Quality Inn Walterboro I-95

The room had several problems: the bathroom light didn't work, and the hair dryer cover was missing, leaving high voltage exposed if touched the wrong way. The building felt dated, and management seemed poor. I was also locked out of my room at 8:30 in the morning. Breakfast had very few choices and no one staffing the area. The place felt understaffed, with a nonchalant attitude. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. There was some noise from workmen leaving early, though that's not Quality Inn's fault. I travel a lot and stay at mid-priced hotels, including Quality Inn, but this one was clearly below par. I won't stop here again.

We arrived late while driving from Florida to New York. The front desk staff were quick, efficient, and friendly, and the hotel was easy to get on and off the interstate. The linens were clean, and we saw a Luna moth on the building the next morning. Breakfast was limited but average. The room was mostly remodeled and looked fairly clean, but I barely slept. The broken pull-down shade was hanging halfway off the window, letting parking lot light shine right across my face all night. In the morning I noticed ours was the only room with that kind of shade, while the others had curtains. I'm assuming we got it because we had a pet. It feels like hotels always give pet owners the crappiest rooms, even though not every pet destroys things. The metal bed bases squeaked loudly whenever my husband or I moved. There was no bathroom exhaust fan, and the room felt damp when we came in; every metal surface had rust on it. The toilet paper holder was broken, so we had to use the partly used roll left by the previous guests and hold it to keep it from falling behind the toilet. We usually stay at Quality Inn when we travel because the prices are around $100 a night and most locations allow pets. I won't stay at this one again.

The room was clean, the pillows were great, and the blankets were warm. It was cold outside, but the heater worked fine and the water was actually hot. I'd been in Florida for two weeks, if you know you know.

The parking lot was so bright after dark that it felt like daytime, and I felt completely safe. The motel is right off the interstate. Since it's a motel style place, I asked for a room on the front side and they accommodated me. The room was clean overall, though it had a bit of an old smell. Breakfast smelled great, but I didn't try any.
