Hilton Garden Inn Boston/Waltham

The room had a decent TV, though it only offered streaming channels, plus a decent microwave and mini fridge. Otherwise, it was pretty bare bones. The desk puts you right up against the wall, and there was only one proper chair, leaving the other person to sit or lie on the bed. The room was okay, but with the Hilton name I expected better. For a few dollars more we could have stayed at a Hilton Home Wood Suites and gotten more benefits, only a few extra miles from the hospital, which is why we picked this one. They hadn't shoveled the entrance sidewalk when we arrived, and it still wasn't cleared after 6 pm. When we left, the front desk wasn't helpful. We'd parked at the back by the pool so they could clear snow in the lot, but they wouldn't let us walk out to the car. We had to go around the building through all the snow. Next time I'll drive another 10 minutes to a better Hilton.

For work or a night away, this is a reliable place that handles the basics. The Waltham location is handy for business travel, though there's not much you can walk to or see nearby. My room was clean and adequate, but a little dated and not as polished as I'd expect from Hilton. Service was courteous, if inconsistent. It does the job, but doesn't particularly stand out.

The bartender and food were really good, with plenty of choices, and customer service was wonderful throughout my stay. My room was clean and the location was convenient, though there isn't anything walkable nearby, so be ready to use rideshare. The hotel is old with cosmetic remodeling, and the HVAC is noisy. The bed wasn't the most comfortable either.

On our last night, four women came into our room without knocking while my wife and I were about to get in the shower. We were there for three nights, and that left us traumatized. The women laughed at us. The manager said we'd be refunded as compensation, but never gave us the refund. They even begged us not to write a review. I'll keep uploading and checking it, so there's no point taking it down. We highly recommend that everyone avoid this hotel. It was a disaster.
