The price was reasonable, especially since I got a good deal, and the location worked for what I needed. The person who checked me in was friendly, and check-in itself went fine. But for a Westin, this place didn’t feel as high-end as I expected. The approach to the hotel is odd and not very attractive since it sits so far back. The garage was fine, though there wasn’t really a pedestrian walkway, so most people used the ramp to get to the hotel. The restaurant charged too much for a burger, so I went into Waltham center and found a cute pub where I could eat for much less. It was fine for two nights.

The room service was good, and the hotel has a nice atmosphere, pleasant rooms, a pool, and great burgers. But the noise at night and the response to my complaints really let the stay down. The first impression was lovely, with beautiful rugs, flavored water, complimentary fruit, and windows looking out over a hill. Check-in was fairly easy and the service seemed nice at first. The elevator was pleasant, the halls were easy to navigate, and the bathrooms were a highlight of the room. The rooms were okay overall, though. From 9 p.m. until 4 in the morning, people repeatedly screamed and slammed doors. I called and was told they’d handle it, but it kept happening that same night. When I called again, they said there was nothing they could do. It continued for the rest of my vacation. I called several more times and was told nothing was actually happening, which upset me because it clearly was. Those issues kept this from being a great hotel.

The beds were comfortable, though they were doubles rather than queens. Breakfast was a typical hotel buffet, with bacon, sausage, French toast, eggs, toast, oatmeal and toppings, but a bit better than average. The fresh fruit was especially nice, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The room felt cramped and old. The bathroom showed years of poor ventilation, with rusty hinges and sprinkler heads and mildew in the shower grout. There was also a water stain on the bedroom ceiling. Maintenance was frustrating. After a long travel day, we found the deadbolt didn’t work. The front desk said an engineer would come, but didn’t mention it would be the next day. I waited a long time with no one showing up, then called again. They found someone to fix it, and I could finally go to bed feeling secure. The next day, the toilet lever came loose from the tank mechanism. I tried putting it back myself, but it kept detaching, so I asked the front desk to send someone while I was out. Six hours later, it still wasn’t fixed. There was no moisturizing cream, either, and the shower pumps for shampoo and the other products were mounted far too high for someone who’s 5’1”.

We were honored to work with The Westin Waltham-Boston last night for its annual Westin Associate Gala. Party Time Events Group saw genuine care, strong leadership, and a real sense of community throughout the organization. The evening celebrated the hotel’s employees, from those leading guest relations to the hardworking behind-the-scenes team members the public may not notice. General Manager EJ shared heartfelt thanks, and Laura and the entire Sales and Catering Team put in impressive effort. It was clear the Westin leadership values every associate. My team and I were glad to take part in this evening of appreciation. It’s no surprise to me that The Westin Waltham-Boston continues to provide a guest experience that sets a standard in hospitality.

Neville, the bartender, really stood out during my pleasant stay at the Westin Waltham. Even with the bar busy, he was welcoming and attentive and kept things relaxed. His friendliness and professionalism made a strong impression. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout. Great facilities and service. I’d definitely stay again.
