Simmer Motel

The room could've been cleaner. I wiped the dirt off the counters myself, and room 321 doesn't have a hot tub.

For what you get, the Simmer costs way too much, and the online photos give a misleading impression. Our sheets had holes and smelled like cigarettes; the carpet was disgusting, there was hair in the drain, and the toilet was stained. There was no TV, and the only way to secure the door was with the code written on a card. We also got no cleaning service or fresh towels during our two-night stay.

I liked how the doors are set up because I could get in without going to the desk, and the price was decent, especially with the Tulip festival bringing a big event to town. It was a very busy weekend, and although I didn't get the room I booked, the room I did get was clean and really nice. I remember this place as a dump, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much it's improved. They were still doing more work, too. I'll stay here again and hope to see even more improvements.

We booked this road trip stop so I could take my mom and daughter to the Oz museum. The room was quiet, with a comfy bed and big, soft pillows, and we'd stay again. Breakfast was free at the main hotel across the road, with a good meal and plenty to choose from. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were friendly. The only downside was that there was no ice.
