Holiday Inn Express

Andrea was very apologetic when I told her my room seemed either uncleaned or still occupied. She said she'd check it and upgrade me, and she did. I was extremely happy with her service. The problem started when my first key didn't work. After she programmed another set, I got into the room and found an unmade bed, food on the nightstand, and towels all over the bathroom floor. The other disappointment was the tax exemption for military guests. I brought in my paperwork a couple of days after check-in because I didn't have it with me then. Taxes were still on the bill at checkout, and I was told to call when a manager was in. After I got home, I called and was told they wouldn't honor the paperwork since I hadn't provided it at check-in. That was very poor service toward military guests. Without Andrea's help, I'd have rated the stay one star.

Breakfast was a bright spot, with good choices and an attendant who kept the area spotless. At check-in, the staff were pleasant, but our room had a drawer front hanging off and a dirty washcloth left on the showerhead. It was fairly clean otherwise, though there was hair throughout the bathroom, on the floor, in the shower, on the toilet, and even on the ceiling. There were three of us in a two-queen room, but only two towels and two washcloths. When we asked for another set, the desk said they had run out and maybe there'd be more the next day. That's not acceptable.

Breakfast was tasty, and the coffee was fresh. Thanks to the housekeepers and everyone working behind the scenes, too. Our room was warm and welcoming, with comfortable beds and clean, tidy bathrooms. Monique was working around 10 pm on Jan 19 2026. She was so kind and got us taken care of right away. She made a wonderful first impression, and I'll be back on my next trip.

The WiFi has always been reliable, which matters since I work remotely. The staff are polite, check-in was easy, breakfast is very good, and the fitness center is clean with working equipment. The pool was closed for the season. I've stayed here six times for work, and the earlier visits were great, but this room was so dirty and worn that I almost checked out. Work had booked the trip, so changing hotels was a hassle. The USB ports were pushed in and unusable, the toilet had urine on the seat, there was hair in the tub and on the bathroom floor, and my sheets were stained. The table was scratched, the sofa dusty, and the lampshade heat-damaged. Things were broken or old, and the room needs an update.
