Affordable Suites of America Detroit-Warren

Getting bedbugs during the stay was the worst part. I had to get treated right away, and couldn't file a complaint because the front desk was rarely staffed when I came back. The room looked decent online and had decent reviews, but that was misleading. There was a dead bug and stains on the ceiling, oily dirty racks, and white residue on the pots and pans that made them unusable. The old carpet and dusty curtains didn't help, and a board was missing under the dishwasher. The bedroom TV wasn't programmed, and the heat stayed cold even when set to 80. Outside was dirty too, with trash around and a neglected look. I have pictures but can't upload them here. It was unpleasant and stressful, and I wouldn't recommend it. Better to book at a low hotel/motel if you want the experience I received.

Bed bugs and roaches were already there when we arrived, but they refused to move us and insisted on sending pest control. People on our floor said they'd had the same problem and were leaving. During our stay we watched furniture from several rooms get thrown out, while they still denied it was THEIR issue. In the end they kicked us out and wouldn't let us switch rooms or do ANYTHING, saying we brought bed bugs from the laundromat, even though their washers and dryers DONT WORK. Judging by the reviews, this place needs to be shut down for HEALTH AND SAFETY hazards. I've seen them rent to MANY minors throwing parties and selling cat. It was a wild time.

We were there less than an hour and left that same night. The room was outdated and filthy, with a pretty big ROACH in the bathroom, so I figured plenty more were hiding. The main bed and pull-out bed also had what looked like bedbug remains. Don't do it!

Sam was the best part of our month-long stay while we waited for our home to be ready. He was helpful, so nice, and truly a blessing. The hotel itself gets 3 stars from me. The furniture was very old and outdated, and basically glued together. As soon as I set something on the little table, it started falling apart, but when I called after checking out, the lady said we broke it, which we didn't. I saw one roach, the kitchen sink clogs really fast, and the stove doesn't get very hot. I really appreciate Sam.
