The indoor park was partly shut because of staffing, and the outdoor one was closed for maintenance even though the website said it was open. We paid for those amenities, but when I raised that with the owner, there was no offer of compensation or another arrangement. Our room also wasn't ready in any real sense. There was hair in the sink, food on the pull-out bed, and dirty floors. Our friends asked for a refund and left within 12 hours. We stayed and tried to enjoy the family weekend, but it fell far short of our last visit two years ago. We had loved the resort enough to come back and persuade friends to make the three-hour drive with us. We won't return or recommend it.

The arcade cost a ridiculous amount, and the prizes didn't feel worth it. Drinks and beer were pricey too. The restaurant was okay for lunch and dinner, and the pizza was decent. Breakfast, though, was an expensive buffet with few choices and disappointing food, and it wasn't included. For the room price, complimentary breakfast would've been the least they could do. We came with our kids for a birthday, but the slides were closed for most of Saturday. A lifeguard said the manager had closed them after staff had to help three guests out of the water following their rides. That meant the rest of us lost access, which was really disappointing. I know the resort has had new owners for a year, but charging for every little thing isn't how to bring it back.

The manager was kind and found us a fridge for our groceries, plus some free pizzas for one night. The owner, though, was rude and kept telling us we were out of luck and had to sort it out ourselves. We had booked a cabin six months ahead for eight people, but somehow someone else had been checked into it by mistake. We asked for a hotel room and the owner tried to charge us for both that and the cabin. He wouldn't even email confirmation that we wouldn't be charged for a cabin we couldn't enter, so we waited in the lobby for ten minutes for that simple assurance. We had brought $300 of groceries to cook with, and without a kitchen or fridge they'd go bad. When we asked to move to a suite with a kitchen, he said no and suggested we eat at the restaurant instead. The hotel was practically empty that weekend, but he offered no food vouchers or suite. It took an hour in the lobby just to get somewhere to sleep. Most of us were from out of state, so driving home wasn't an option. I remember this as a great place to visit as a kid, but ten years later our stay was a nightmare. It has potential, and I hope it gets new owners, because the current owner made this a terrible experience.

You can't put a price on the peace of mind you get from knowing your kids are in the hands of well-trained lifeguards. Cody and his indoor water park staff were courteous, knowledgeable, and kind. Jason and Randy went the extra mile, and Dakota, Ashton, and Devon were helpful too. I know I missed a couple of the lifeguards who were working hard, so thanks to them as well. We go to water parks all the time and have been pretty much everywhere around the country, including most places in Wisconsin. I'll keep recommending 3 Bears to everyone. If you're choosing where to go or stay in Warrens, Wisconsin, Three Bears should be your first choice.

The water was just right, with a hot hot tub and warm swimming water. Everything was clean and looked nice, including the public areas, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a fun time.
