The manager shared all the details we needed about the pleasant hike up the mountain opposite, which takes about 40 minutes at a fast pace. We had coffee freshly made each morning, but no breakfast, which surprised me given the cost. There are plenty of places to eat in town, and the on-site restaurant served us a very nice light meal at the bar. Our room was comfortable and spacious, though the first one had lots of insects on the ceiling, so the manager moved us. I think the place had just been renovated, and everything else was in good condition.

Dinner at their restaurant right next door was DELICIOUS. The host greeted us promptly and was very nice, and the place was clean. It felt a lot like a bed and breakfast, except there was no breakfast. They do have coffee and a microwave, and the lawn is a nice spot to enjoy a cup outside. There’s also a butterfly conservatory on site, though it probably wasn’t breeding season. Our room did have a lot of grasshoppers, and they kept jumping on the pillows!

They even upgraded our room because they thought we’d be better off in another one. It was clean and had everything ready for us, and there’s coffee and hot water in the morning. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, really going out of their way to make our stay nice. I’m grateful for that.

This place is now The Bond. We had a good experience with the service, and they offered us a smaller area when the Tavern’s high-top tables didn’t seem comfortable for older folks with bad knees. The food was just okay overall. My wife’s stuffed Portobello mushroom was excellent, but the Lamb Bolognese was bland. We’ll give it another try.

I’m reviewing the restaurant, not the lodging. Its decor is hard to beat anywhere around Warrensburg/Lake George. The food is generally good, though it can be hit or miss: the skirt steak was perfect, while the fish & chips nearly worked but the fish was a bit undercooked. Sometimes the vegetables taste as if they’ve sat in a hot-water bath for a while, and other times they seem freshly made. It’s a very new restaurant, so maybe they’re still working through startup problems.
