We had a wonderful few days, and the food and setting for every meal and tea were even better than we expected. Our room was lovely, and the people in and around the Inn were friendly and interesting. This was a retirement gift from my organization, and it landed around our 44th wedding anniversary. With family roots in England, I was eager to experience English hospitality across the pond. It was wonderful. For most of our stay, there was just one other party of two overlapping with us. Karen spent plenty of time looking after what we needed as hostess. We enjoyed her company and felt truly welcome. Lots of fun.

The English-themed rooms are beautifully decorated and have all the amenities. There are snacks, drinks, and coffee set out in the hallway near your room, too. My husband and I stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute. Karen was so friendly and nice, just the best. Breakfast was fabulous: English bacon, eggs, beans, bread, orange juice, and coffee. Karen also has tea time, though I didn't get to join in. The Ivy was lovely and relaxing, definitely a wonderful B&B to try. 💛

The front porch is awesome, and our accommodations were comfortable and impeccably clean. We found The Ivy to be a perfect little gem in a cute town, with welcoming and delightful hosts in Karen and Mike. We'd deliberately left the busy highway behind for a relaxing night, and it was well worth the detour. After a wonderful sleep, Karen served a full English breakfast that was to die for. If we're ever in the area again, we'd definitely stay here.

Karen's real English-style breakfast is a hearty one, so come hungry. The Ivy is also an easy walk from the Main Street area restaurants and businesses. If you can, take a short drive toward Lake Gaston. Eaton’s Ferry has two restaurants on the lake that might tempt you. This was our first stay at the lovely B&B. The cozy room, with family heirlooms and pictures, felt like being on a movie set. Karen and Mike made us feel like family. We'll be back.

After a long day of driving, we got to the Ivy late, and Karen welcomed us like family. It's an incredible home, with a comfy bed, and breakfast with Karen was delightful. For the same price as a hotel, we were treated like old friends and stayed in a beautiful historic home. Highly, highly recommend!
