Arlo Washington DC

Beautiful hotel in a great location, with excellent rooms and service. But loud music carried on from evening through the night into the early morning. Trying to rest felt like being under a nightclub. I chose the area expecting quiet, and it wasn't. Outside was more peaceful than my room.

Arlo was way above the usual hotel chains we've stayed at. The rooms are compact, like most in DC, but the layout makes good use of the space. I loved the thoughtful details and modern decor, and it felt like a calm retreat after long travel days. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the onsite restaurant was great, and the rooftop bar has a fun atmosphere and lovely views. The room TV also mentioned you can ask the front desk for extras, like an in-room yoga mat. We enjoyed it so much that we'll stick with Arlo wherever we find one. I don't write many reviews, but this one felt worth it.

The rooftop lounge alone felt worth the price, with a stunning view, plenty of places to sit, work or meet, and a bar for late drinks, though I skipped those. I also used the spacious, well-equipped gym for my daily one-mile run. The machines looked brand new, and there was a good mix of equipment, weights and free weights. The business office had plenty of room and printing for work was easy. Elevators need your keyboard, which made the hotel feel secure. My first stay here turned out to be a really good choice. The decor felt elevated, the room was comfortable and well equipped, and the service was professional and welcoming. Check-in was quick, and staff answered my questions, including later in the evening. My room was spotless and had a nice view of the Capitol. I could walk to the National Mall and museums, and there was a good pizza place around the corner. I had pizza and wings nearby, and found plenty of paid parking within a block. I used a parking app and left my car right in front of the hotel. For what I paid, I got a huge value. I'll bookmark it and favor it on future trips to the city.

The hotel's modern look was stylish without making the place feel uncomfortable. The bed was very cozy, the bathroom finishes felt luxe, and the atmosphere worked for both business and leisure. The room and shared spaces, including the lobby, halls and elevators, were spotless and fresh. The team made the stay, though. Everyone I met was warm, professional and attentive, from check-in to recommendations and quick help with requests. Arlo Hotel DC exceeded what I expected, and I plan to come back and recommend it to people I know.
