Early check-in after a red-eye was a lovely surprise, and the room was spotless. The staff we met were all friendly, and the location made it easy to explore the monuments. 10/10, I’d absolutely come back.

A colleague's rental car door was scratched by the valet, on top of the medication going missing. This is a heads-up about Marriot properties. In the last 3 months, I had one colleague stay here and another at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street. Both left doctor-prescribed medication in luggage or a drawer, and later found it missing. Marriot denied both incidents, and staff were curt and dismissive. The service here was horrific. The staff also act as if they’re doing you a favor when you pay 300 or 400 a night. You're in D.C., where service everywhere is pretty bad because of the people who live there. When you leave, you’re always glad to be back home, in my opinion. Keep valuables, including prescription medication they might steal to sell to others, in the room safe or with you. It’s sad this is the world we live in. I only stay at Marriot properties if my company requires it for a business meeting.

The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was fast enough. But it kept making me reconnect, which got annoying. The air conditioning was incredibly loud. Fortunately I didn’t need it, since someone had set it to 15°C before I arrived and the room was freezing. The location is very good, and the restaurant has a decent selection, though it shuts too early at 10 pm. Room service stops before 10 pm too, so be careful if you don't want to go to bed hungry. There aren't many places nearby open late. The hotel also charges to receive or store packages, which feels unwelcoming. The bathroom is basic, with weak water flow and a shower that was underwhelming. There’s only a wall-mounted shower head, and I missed having a handheld one. There’s no handheld bidet either. The lighting is too dim, like in every American hotel.

The room was clean and quite spacious, and it felt like good value for the price. We found everything comfortable and convenient during our four nights here. The location is excellent too, with all the main sights within walking distance. We'd definitely stay again.
