It felt easy to meet people and spend time together because the hostel is small and doesn’t have too many guests. The staff were great, and the place felt secure. Breakfast was simple and just right if you’re heading out. It’s a cozy spot away from the DC bustle, and the free transit line to Union Station is right across the street, making it easy to reach the rest of the city. I enjoyed staying here and will try it again.

The staff and other guests were friendly, and the bed was comfortable. For the money, it’s not a bad place. Breakfast was corn flakes and milk. There are two parking spaces you can reserve, plus free street parking that’s usually plentiful, although you may need to move your car depending on where you leave it. The Bennett Rd. spaces turn into a travel lane during the evening commute. There’s one shared bathroom on the second floor, and sometimes the line is three people deep. Women can also use a women-only bathroom on the first floor. A bus stop and free trolley are about a minute’s walk away.

I’ve stayed here a few times. It’s a small, quiet hostel outside downtown, with a cultural staff, and the quality makes the price worthwhile even if it isn’t always the cheapest. There are plenty of convenience stores nearby, and McDonald’s is a few blocks away.

We took a pretty long road trip with our family of six, and the kids loved how easy it was to get to all the nearby playgrounds. My wife was especially happy with the customer service, the cleanliness, and how comfortable the bed was. We were within walking distance of public transportation, which made it a great base for exploring the city. The manager gave the kids complimentary teddy bears, too. We’d definitely come back. Thank you!

The free tram to Union Station was useful for getting around, but I didn’t feel safe walking in this part of town at night. The staff were friendly and helpful, but this hostel still needs a lot of work. There’s no stove, which is a key amenity for a good hostel, and the A/C barely worked. You need a code to enter the property, but the rooms have no key or access code. Other guests came into my room by mistake several times. There was only one bathroom for the upstairs rooms, and sometimes I waited half an hour to use it. I’m a regular hostel guest and had never seen locals staying in one before, but locals regularly came into my room during this stay. Comfort Zone has the city’s best hotel rates, but I’d choose a hostel elsewhere.
