Malolo Bed and Breakfast

The breakfasts became one of our favorite parts of our first trip to D.C. George and David shared great stories and local suggestions, and we loved talking with them each morning. We already miss them and hope to come back. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Since I’m vegetarian and allergic to black pepper, I’m used to limited choices while traveling, but every breakfast here was safe for me and delicious. They also made my husband’s birthday feel special with a handmade card, a gift, and a banner. Our room was cozy, spotless, and carefully cleaned each day. Thank you, George and David, for making this stay so memorable.

We stayed at Malolo B&B for more than a week in August, and those morning smells from the kitchen were a lovely way to wake up. Chef George made a great range of hot and cold breakfasts, all delicious and nicely presented. He even made fresh waffles for my husband when he asked. We had some really good conversations with them, and David especially is such a sincere person with a wonderful heart and personality. The rooms were clean and kept in good shape. I told George daily cleaning wasn’t necessary, but he insisted on tidying our room anyway. During the pandemic they cut back the number of available rooms and now use only the second floor. Sorry this review is late, guys. We’re moving soon, but we’ll see you again!

The room was spacious and really clean, and the location worked well for our travels. George was friendly and interesting, and his breakfast was tasty and nicely prepared. Dave had plenty of interesting information to share too.

We got in just before midnight after a late flight, and Dave and George greeted me warmly with an Aloha. They were incredibly kind throughout the stay and had lots of helpful ideas about getting around and what to see. As a first-time visitor to the nation’s capital, I almost got more information than I could take in. The property was peaceful, with a satisfying selection of breakfast items. My room was quiet and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. It’s a little off the beaten path, but I’d happily recommend staying here.
