Motel 6 Washington, DC

The room had two double beds for three adults and two kids, so three people shared one bed and the other two shared the second. The toilet seat was broken, the tub was cracked and stained, and we found a roach in the tub and a stink bug on the floor. The coffee bar was a joke, and there was no microwave or mini fridge. Terrible.

The location worked perfectly for my trip, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were super friendly too. I had an amazing stay at Motel 6 and will definitely come back.

We booked this place at the last minute for two nights, just needing somewhere decent and reasonably priced to rest. I wish we’d read the reviews first. We arrived around 1 a.m., and within minutes knew we couldn’t stay, so we left right away. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The lot felt chaotic and unsafe, with people hanging around, people sleeping in cars, and others openly smoking weed. The smell of smoke and weed was everywhere. There wasn’t a proper lobby, just a neglected, rundown property with a horrible smell. The staff were useless, unprofessional, and no help at all. Our room looked nothing like the pictures. It was filthy, with stained sheets, dirty walls, and marks from smashed bugs or roaches. Inside, the unbearable smell mixed smoke, weed, mold, and stale air. I didn’t feel comfortable touching anything. Expedia listing this place feels completely misleading. We didn’t stay at all, yet only got one night refunded. I’d give it a negative rating if I could. Avoid it at all costs.

There are a lot of bad reviews, lol, but the service and rooms are good. The location isn’t the best, though if you’re traveling solo and stay alert, you should be fine. It’s on the cheaper side, so you get what you pay for. For a better experience, you’ll unfortunately need to spend more.
