Pendry Washington DC - The Wharf

Peggy, the manager, was incredibly kind and took great care of us during our phenomenal stay. We loved our room on the 10th floor, overlooking the wharf, marina, park, and airport. The views were beautiful. Harsh, the concierge, helped us find a wine tasting at Mount Vernon, and we had an amazing time. We also loved the top-floor restaurant. For a late lunch we had edamame, crispy chicken, and the crab sushi roll, all excellent. Adam was a fantastic server. We truly enjoyed the service, food, and views. The spa felt overpriced, though, and the pool wasn’t fully open yet during our stay.

We came away with some good memories of Pendry Washington DC, The Wharf, especially the waterfront view and surrounding scenery. The location, pool, and service were positives, and the staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. Still, the room felt small and a bit crowded, and the property seemed more like a city hotel than the resort-style escape we’d expected from the Pendry brand. We’d chosen it with high expectations, but the comfort and ease didn’t quite meet them. After driving five hours from New York with two dogs, we hoped for a smoother arrival. We understood early check-in through Amex depended on availability, but waiting about three more hours in the lobby made the start stressful and tiring. For a future trip, I’d be more likely to try a different Pendry property rather than return to this one.

Our wharf-view room was breathtaking. They’d arranged rose petals and roses in a heart shape on the bed, along with a bottle of champagne, for our 10th anniversary staycation at the Pendry. I didn’t want to leave, and I can’t wait to return. The hotel was clean, and we had a few drinks at the Pendry Bar. From the moment we arrived, the valet was friendly and helpful. The gentleman at the front desk greeted us as he opened the door, wished us a happy anniversary, and offered cold bottled water on a 90-degree day. They also shared local and restaurant advice and offered to help with our bags to the room. It was a perfect trip.

We loved our extended birthday weekend at the Pendry Washington DC, and we’ll definitely come back. The staff gave us five-star, white-glove service, and room service was five star too. Our room on the eighth floor had a pretty great view, and the beds were really comfortable. The room was beautiful, with a birthday chocolate mousse cake and a handwritten card of birthday wishes waiting when we arrived. The rooftop bar was amazing, with gorgeous views, especially at night. The hotel is in a lovely, convenient spot on The Wharf. I have nothing bad to say about this location. Thank you for a wonderful visit.
