Reside Navy Yard, a Wyndham Residence

I found this place when I needed an affordable room for one night, within walking distance of the Capitol offices. It was simple, clean, and functional, with a great location and a community feel. Yards Park and the waterway are nearby. I’ll come back.

The room itself was comfortable and nice, but the service felt unprofessional. Staff told me my bank card wasn’t accepted, saying they couldn’t take prepaid cards. Then they checked in a white couple using a Netspend prepaid card. Mine was a bank card, not prepaid. I don’t care who the staff are, but what happened felt like discrimination and profiling. Maybe it was a miscommunication, but the way it was handled was blatant and extremely unprofessional.

The room was comfortable and clean, though it got a little noisy at times. The location can be awkward to reach, which the price reflects. One inconvenience is that there are no lockers where guests can leave their bags between checkout and traveling.

I booked through Expedia and only found out on arrival that this property doesn’t have the room type I reserved. The front desk staff confirmed they had never offered it. They were polite, but all they could do was acknowledge the problem and send me back to the booking platform, with no solution from the hotel. It was frustrating and uncomfortable, and cost me time and caused unnecessary stress. Third-party listings like this shouldn’t stay active when the accommodation isn’t available. I hope management corrects the partner site listings so this doesn’t happen to future guests.
