We’ve stayed at the State Plaza Hotel before and enjoyed it, and I still plan to come back hoping for a better visit. The place is cute, quiet, and cozy, great for a getaway. This time, though, the TV didn’t work, we found a very large water bug in the room, and the temperature controls gave us trouble. Those issues made the stay uncomfortable, especially since we hadn’t run into them on earlier visits. I hope management keeps up with the property.

The rooms were clean and roomy, and the hotel is well placed for walking around DC. The WiFi was my biggest issue. It kept dropping and was absolutely awful, so I wouldn’t stay here if reliable WiFi matters to you. The TV picture was poor too, and for $300 a night I expected better from both the WiFi and TVs.

The rooms were clean and had plenty of space, and I loved our stay. Cristy was wonderful. When we had a problem, she stayed on it and was so helpful. Gerald was kind too, and took time to help us with directions and nearby dinner spots. They really cared about helping us. Give them a raise, they’re five-star employees.

The room worked really well for sharing, with lots of space, a kitchen, and even a dressing room. The bathroom was spotless and the bed was super comfortable. Everyone was nice, and the location was perfect for the university and the 2026 monks’ walk for peace. Absolutely loved the place.

I’ll stay here whenever we come back to DC. It’s close to everything, and the price is very affordable for the location. The rooms are super clean, the staff are friendly, and the service beats what we’ve had at pricier hotels. Coming from out of town, it’s great to find an affordable, luxurious place and still have money for all the things we wanted to do. I also like that they accept Cash App for deposits, since I hate using my bank card with so many scams around. I’ll recommend it to family and friends. Thank you, please don’t change!
