The Dupont Circle Hotel

The evening room preparation was a nice touch, and the service staff were lovely, friendly, and tried to help even when management communication was mixed. Still, we came away underwhelmed. The DuPont seems to lean more on its location and reputation than on the service it provides. We had no charging ports in our room, and the restaurant menu was overpriced, though there were several great places to eat within walking distance and we brought our own charging stations. It feels more like a boutique hotel than a business hotel, so choose accordingly.

Our room was cozy, and the heated floors just outside the shower were a welcome luxury. From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, everyone treated us with kindness and professionalism. The valet looked magnificent in his waistcoat, and I really enjoyed speaking with him. At the front desk, the team anticipated what we needed so well that we didn’t have to ask questions. The service and attention to detail were masterclass. We missed the restaurant downstairs this time, but want to try the food on a return visit with my girlfriend.

I’ve used The Dupont Circle Hotel for corporate events for the past eight years, with two different companies. I brought my second firm back because the service with the first was first class. For the layered, fast-moving events I plan, the event team makes things easier from the start. They keep track of the details, help us stay on top of what we need to do, and check in throughout event day to make sure things are running as they should. That dependable, attentive crew is what really sets the place apart. The staff are professional and sharp, and they remember you even if it’s been a year or more since you last saw them. The food is excellent at The Pembroke, The Doyle, and through hotel catering. Guest rooms are lovely too, and during family reunions with multiple suites, they’ve always been comfortable, clean, and well done. It’s an easy five stars for me, and I’ll be back for another event, work or personal.

Doyle Bar in the lobby is worth a stop, with great drinks, a cozy feel, and enough local customers that it doesn’t come across as just a hotel bar. The staff were warm without making too much of a fuss, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The rooms are beautiful, with a mid-century style that feels intentional rather than gimmicky. The location is hard to beat, right on the circle, two minutes from the Metro, and close to some of the city’s best restaurants and bars. I actually looked forward to getting back to my room at the end of the day.
