The River Inn

My room was clean and spacious, with a bedroom, living room, and kitchenette, and it was great value. The neighborhood in Foggy Bottom is cute, and it’s only a quick five-minute walk to the subway by George Washington University. The staff were great and accommodated my early check-in. I loved my stay and would happily book here again next time I’m in DC.

We had a great anniversary stay and would come back. The restaurant was nice and the food was great, though a little pricey. Our Potomac view room was spacious, clean, and modern, with a hotel that’s clearly older but has been revamped. The bed was a bit noisy, the doors and knobs stuck a little, and there was staining and grout residue on the bathroom tile. Our neighbor had a dog that barked nonstop. I wasn’t annoyed, but I did feel bad for it. The location and neighborhood were great, just steps from Foggy Bottom metro. The front desk staff were helpful and sweet, and the valet team were amazing, helping bring our luggage upstairs. Valet parking is available for an additional price.

The location made it easy to reach the sights and subway, and the staff were very helpful, especially the front desk women. I stayed for 3 nights and couldn’t fault the place. My room was clean, spacious, and great.

The suite on the 7th floor was huge, comfortable, and filled with natural light. We had spectacular views of the Potomac, Rosslyn, Georgetown, and the Kennedy Center. The bed, linens, couch, chairs, desk, and kitchen nook table were all really comfortable. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the front desk staff were supportive, friendly, communicative, and super cool. Foggy Bottom metro is a five-minute walk, Georgetown takes 10-20 minutes depending where you’re headed, and Washing Harbor is about 15 minutes by the scenic route. We didn’t have a car and never ate at the on-site Italian joint, so I can’t comment on those. We stayed this past weekend, 11/07-11/09/25, and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Can’t wait to come back.
