The Westin Georgetown, Washington D.C.

The gym is a standout, much bigger than a typical hotel fitness room, with Peloton bikes, rowing machines, and separate lat pulldown and leg weight machines. The room was spacious, modern, and clean. Downstairs, the wood-paneled dining area was handy for coffee and toast in the morning. The front desk was another highlight. Check-in went quickly, and the team shared 4-5 good restaurant suggestions within walking distance, which saved us time looking for dinner. The on-site garage is roomy and convenient compared with other Georgetown parking choices. The Westin Georgetown is well placed for walking to Georgetown shops and restaurants, and makes a comfortable, reliable option for business or leisure in D.C.

Esther and Bya at the front desk made my stay at the Westin Georgetown especially memorable. They were welcoming and kind as soon as I arrived, and their upbeat manner and care with details set a great tone. They made sure things went smoothly and that I was comfortable. Their friendliness felt sincere, and it left a lasting impression. The hotel clearly values hospitality. I’ll definitely return and recommend it to others.

At $300 a night or more, I don't think the value is there. The rooms feel dated, the furniture is worn, and there are no real amenities or complimentary breakfast. I did like the gym. DC and Georgetown have plenty of hotels and Airbnbs that look nicer, offer more for the money, and provide better service. Several front desk staff had poor, apathetic customer service, and the rooms operations manager, Crys J. Smith, showed poor leadership. Staff morale seemed low, like people were just collecting a paycheck from customers. Another employee was kind and asked me not to file a corporate report or boycott Marriott-Bonvoy because staff get good benefits. I said the value and benefits should go both ways for hotel employees and customers paying $300 per night. There was a reservation problem at check-in, and other arriving guests seemed to have issues too. The staff seemed not to care. I called “Member Servces” for help and got a rude “supervisor,” Carlos P (Miami Call Center), who said things so upsetting and embarrassing I can't repeat them here. I will NEVER stay here again. I'm seriously considering ending my Marriott-Bonvoy membership and returning to IHG exclusively.

Great beds and bathrooms. The downstairs restaurant made a great New York strip, and Uptowner Cafe across the street has a good range of room-friendly snacks, Ramen, and drinks for your stay.
