As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe here. My room was well kept and had a relaxing feel, room service was quick, and breakfast was nice. When I checked out, Eefram (sorry if im spelling it wrong!) checked that I'd enjoyed my stay and made a few jokes. I travel a lot, and don't always get the same warmth when leaving as when I arrive, so that stood out. Ryan explained everything clearly at check-in and gave me recommendations around DC. I tried them, and they were actually good! I came to DC for a quick midweek getaway and had an amazing time. 10/10.

Our weekend plans were rescued by the team at the Thompson Hotel. We were meant to move into our new DC apartment that day, but a major issue there kept us out, and the building offered little help. My girlfriend, our dog, and I were stressed and frustrated, so we booked a room at the last minute. From the moment we pulled up, everyone was friendly, helped unload the car and get us checked in, and even gave our dog treats to cheer him up. It meant a lot to feel that people cared. The food, room service, and morning coffee were great too. I wish I could give more than five stars, and now recommend this hotel to everyone I talk to.

The dinner bar and breakfast restaurant were the best parts for us. The food options were delicious, and the service was great. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar, with its views and friendly staff. The valet was timely and welcoming, so the weekend stay started well. Check-in was a letdown: we were offered a free upgrade with a better view, but the agent couldn't say when the room would be ready even though we arrived after 4pm. We also learned from the very nice bartender that we were meant to get a house cocktail at check-in, which never arrived. The room had a nice art Deco/nautical look, but felt cramped and poorly laid out. The corner desk wasn't useful, and the bench was too narrow to sit on for long. The mattress was much too firm for us, and the room was hard to cool, as if the HVAC wasn't working properly. All in all, an average stay, with the restaurants and their staff as the bright spot.

Housekeeping did a great job, and we loved how clean the room was. Million, Mickey, Chris, D and the young lady in valet were so welcoming, greeting us and opening doors. Monique and the front desk team were super nice too. 10/10, would recommend!
