We stayed only one night, but we’ll definitely return with family who are just relocating to Washington. The room was nicely updated, spotless, and stylish, and the inn is a beautiful historic gem in an awesome location. We went down to the basement bar at night, which was fantastic, and enjoyed the coffee shop in the morning. All three are in the same lovely building. The management was super helpful and seems to have thought of everything you might need. We can’t recommend the Cornerstone Inn more highly. Definitely stay here if you’re in the area!

I travel through this area once or twice a year for work and have stayed in some not so nice hotels. The Cornerstone Inn is a great alternative to another chain hotel, and I’ve saved it as a favorite for next time. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and I liked learning about the building’s history. The coffee shop on the second floor and the bar/restaurant downstairs were nice to have too. Making the reservation by phone was easy. Parking took a little figuring out, but now I know the lot is across the street. Once inside, turn right and go upstairs, or use the small, slower elevator. There’s no receptionist, just an envelope with your name and room number. It has your keys, parking information, and Wi-Fi details. I stayed in room #6. There was some road noise from vehicles outside the window, and I could’ve used a plug closer to the desk while working on my laptop. Not a big deal. There are only seven rooms, so I hope I get one again next time I’m in town.

I loved the big room, the cool view, and the epic kitchen. There’s also a cool little coffee spot below. It was close to my project, which I really appreciated. The owner was at the front desk and was super polite, professional, and reliable. Amazing hotel and awesome staff. Thanks for all the stays, can’t wait to come back and visit.

I loved the place, and our room was spacious and super clean, but I’d have to think twice about returning. For a boutique hotel, I expected real people to greet guests and be available for questions or service. I didn’t see anyone. The breakfast nook had pre-packaged mini muffins, and they ran out of coffee cups with nobody around to ask for help. I saw the note saying to text for help, but self-service doesn’t really feel like a boutique-hotel experience.

There’s a lot to like here: our room and private bathroom were spacious and super clean, and the architecture is beautiful. We loved the blend of old and modern. Prices for the hotel, bar, and coffee shop were all very reasonable, and we’ve already booked future stays. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the area’s shops. We were here for Bradley University’s freshman orientation, about a 20 minute drive away. At first it felt weird not having front desk staff, but we texted as the binder and personal envelope instructed to ask for a few extra things. Within 30 minutes, a lovely woman knocked on our door with them. A fun surprise was the desk lamp that also worked as a Bluetooth speaker. It wasn’t advertised, but I noticed the feature, connected our devices, and we played music throughout our visit. The first night we had drinks and Butch’s pizza downstairs at the W Down Under. It’s a great bar with daily specials, and everyone was friendly. We went back the second night too. There’s also faire Coffee in the same building. I ordered coffee online through toasttab, and my husband picked it up just one floor below us. Cute place, great coffee. This hotel has it all!
