We picked this hotel for my wife’s birthday weekend in early March 2026, and the off-season rate was such good value. It’s easy to walk around Watkins Glen from here, and we loved stopping at the JR Dill Wine Bar downstairs after a day driving around the lake. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, with great cocktails and a solid craft beer selection. The rooms were huge, spotless, well cared for, and beautifully decorated. Even the bathroom felt as big as a typical chain hotel room. There’s no private parking, and the spaces out front have a two-hour limit. We unloaded first, then followed the check-in instructions and parked on 3rd Street a block away, which worked fine. We love this place and will book it again for an off-season weekend.

We’d originally booked the big hotel at the harbor, but switched once we found this place, and I’m glad we did. The rooms feel completely new, with a ton of attention to detail, and the hotel is right in the middle of the village. Watkins Glen is a small lake town in central NY, and while there are plenty of decent places, not many are really nice. This one was a huge surprise and on another level. I’d definitely stay here again.

The location was just right, and the space felt so relaxing and comfortable. We had everything we needed, and the customer service was great. The complimentary wine tasting and bottle of wine were a lovely touch that made us feel appreciated. The espresso machine was a wonderful surprise, too. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it for a couples getaway.

The room was enormous and really comfortable, and the location made it easy to walk to everything. It sits between the lake and the Glen, right in the middle of Watkins Glen. We only wish we’d had more time there. We had an early flight and planned to leave our bags while we explored, but I hadn’t realized there was no formal lobby. A shop next door noticed us and very kindly let us store our bags in the back. We couldn’t say enough good things about the place.

The rooms were spotless, Jill made us feel very welcome, and the views across downtown Watkins Glen were stunning. The Benjamin is a real hidden gem, with Upstate New York’s rustic feel paired with high-end comfort. I’d give it a 10/10 and recommend it.
