The first night at Family Inn, I woke up with four bites on my arm. When I reported it, the woman at the office brushed me off and said there were no bugs because pest control came by. We stayed a few more nights since we'd paid for the week, and by then my partner and I had more than 40 bites between us. I later found three dead bugs, left them with my key card at the office, and called around 9:20 a.m. on September 25 to say we'd checked out. The man just said thanks and hung up. Both he and the woman were dismissive. We were there for work. The floors had been redone in wood, and the dresser and side table were in good shape. It was quiet, the water got hot, and the people were friendly when we first checked in. It looked like a typical motel, and you do get what you pay for, but being bitten isn't part of that. Someone who lives across the lot told me her friend had also been eaten by bugs and moved rooms. We'd originally been put in a room with a kitchen and stove, though we'd paid for a room without one because none of those were available at check-in. We were meant to switch rooms on the third night, but both of us work from early morning until evening, so we couldn't get back in time to move. When I called again about the bites, the man said I had to move that day. I told him we'd be back around 6 or 7 p.m. He had someone let me in because my key card wasn't working, then had that employee tell me we had to leave when the week ended because contracted workers needed the rooms. Other residents I spoke with said they hadn't been told to leave. I can only assume it was because I kept raising the bug problem. Please be cautious about booking here.

I'd choose sleeping in my car over staying in these rooms. This is the worst place I've ever seen, and even giving it one star feels too generous.

I called to ask about booking and the guy sounded annoyed by my questions about amenities. He seemed to have the phone far away and couldn't be bothered to speak up. When I asked him to repeat himself, he slammed the phone down. Doesn't seem like they need the business. After seeing the awful reviews, I'm glad I booked somewhere else.

The location worked really well for me, with food, drinks, and Casey's all within walking distance. The place was clean and looked after, the grass got mowed weekly, and snow was plowed in winter. Towels and toiletries were replenished promptly, and I had no bug problems. The rooms could use updating, though. I stayed long term for two to three months this year, and the family running the hotel for the owner were caring and kind. There was a change in management two weeks into my stay. The first woman running it was horrible, but the new one came in and made a quick, much-needed change. Great job!

I spend every weekend here visiting my husband in a nursing home. The rooms are remodeled, clean, and very affordable, and the people who run and work at the place are friendly. Several restaurants and convenience stores are an easy walk away, with Dollar General right next door. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a clean, inexpensive stay.
