Hotel B5 Watsonville, CA - Monterey Area

I was there for seven nights, and the room was basic but comfortable. The place felt safe and calm, and the staff treated me with respect. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, especially Rosie, the general manager, who was helpful and professional throughout. I did have technical problems with the toilet area and faucet. Maintenance came, but didn't finish the work properly the first time and had to return twice more. That was frustrating and unsatisfactory. With better maintenance support, this could easily be a five-star stay.

We checked in and everything seemed fine until we got to the room and found flying cockroaches, spiders, and all kinds of insects. We asked to change rooms, and the replacement had insects too. We had two rooms, and my sister had another one. All of them were full of flying cockroaches, spiders, and other bugs. It was gross. The employees said the owners knew every room was infested and wouldn't do anything. Nobody tried to make it better, because, as far as we could tell, the whole hotel was like that. My daughter got insect bites all over her body, and I'll need to take her to the doctor to make sure she's okay. It was the worst experience. If you have a family, please don't bring them here. This is an unhealthy problem. The place should be closed, and the city should do a health inspection. I'm pretty sure they'd shut it down.

I stayed here after housing issues, and the staff were great for the first two nights. After that, the morning manager, a short, chubby lady, was rude, accused me of doing something wrong, and had a bad attitude. I felt discouraged from going to the office to ask for anything when she was there. When the laundry room dryer stopped working, I asked for help and she refused. Later, around 8 that night, she was doing her personal laundry in the larger laundry room where they kept the towels, I guess. Perks of living on the property.

The rooms are nice and clean, and the staff are friendly and professional throughout. I've stayed a few times and the service is consistently good. Rosey, the General Manager, is exceptional and makes sure the experience is memorable. Thanks to Rosey and the staff! See you soon!! 👍🏽💯
