Baymont by Wyndham Waunakee

The warm pool was a hit with all of us, and the staff even kept it open until 10:30 pm during a terrible April snowstorm, though its closing time was 10:00 pm. They also provided a shuttle bus to our wedding venue and made sure our family could get there. When we arrived, staff helped carry our bags, and the snow was shoveled before we got back. The breakfast bar had some problems on the first day. The waffle iron was broken and fuses kept blowing, so it was hard to keep the food warm. By day two, everything was fixed. The rooms were clean, and the staff were incredible whenever we needed help. A few minor repairs were needed, but nothing made us uncomfortable, and the staff more than made up for it. It was a great stay and good value for the money.

The little library in the lobby was such a lovely surprise. You can borrow a book, though I wish there were a few more to choose from. The staff were welcoming and kind, and I had some great conversations with them. The breakfast was really good, with plenty of choices, though some breakfast meat would've been nice. I booked for the price and wasn't expecting much, but I loved it. The room felt a bit cramped but was comfortable. There isn't an elevator, though it's only two floors, so that wasn't too bad. The pool area looked awesome, and there's a workout room. The outside is super cute, with a little book out front where you can sit and relax. That's the first time I've seen a hotel with a library like that!

We found the location really handy for our family. A traditional park with playgrounds and a county farm park were both an easy walk away, and we could get to Madison easily for our trips into the city. The pool helped our toddler burn off some energy too. The room was basic, but had everything we needed, and the place was clean apart from the local dust you'd expect during renovations. The size worked for the adults, though it felt a bit small to our busy toddler. Breakfast was simple, with both continental and hot options, and we never left hungry. It's not a five-star hotel and doesn't claim to be, but it met our needs and expectations. I'd definitely stay again.

We were traveling with my parents and had three rooms. At check-in, we were told the TV in our room wasn't working. They compensated us, which was fine since we don't really watch TV. But when we got into the room, it was dirty, so we had to switch to a room with smaller beds. We were told housekeeping had left early and wasn't in the building, so we'd need to ask the front desk if we needed anything. The second room was clean and good, though the beds were low quality and springy. The pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. We got to breakfast an hour after it started and most of it was gone. The basics, cereal, milk, and juice, were still there. My mother thought the scrambled eggs might have been made from dry powder. All in all, it was an okay hotel.
