Reliance Inn

The staff have all been great, and I’m treated like a human being here. Tim, Lesley, Jessica, Rene, Jason, and Dreamer have been good to me. Thanks to manager HP for understanding my situation and putting up with me, even though I have issues with my room. I’ve been here since October 7th last year. I came after the place I was living had a fire and I had nowhere else to go. Rent around Wausau is just too high, so I’m still looking and applying for a place.

I stayed a few nights and later noticed my deposit still hadn’t been returned. When I called, a rude woman said the morning worker had found a pop can with cigarette butts and ash in my room, so they were keeping it. I don’t smoke, but she wouldn’t hear me out. There was no photo of the can, no witness saying they smelled smoke, and no proof at all. It didn’t smell like smoke because I don’t smoke, and you’d think smoke would be noticeable in the hallway too. To me, this looks like a scam where guests get falsely accused so the hotel can keep their deposit. The place may seem cheaper, but if they wrongfully hold your money over a made-up claim, you can end up paying more than at another hotel. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else unless you want to risk this. Wow. Never again. Warn your friends.

The room was the main problem, even though the staff member I met was nice and the service was okay. There was no hot water, however long I waited. The heater had odd stains, and the desk chair was torn up and uncomfortable. The TV was so old it sat on its loading screen long enough for the text to burn into the display. The pillows were yellow, and the sheets had stains and hair on them, like they hadn’t been washed. There were only two pillows, and they were poor quality. The outlet was faulty too, and I had to hold anything plugged into it at just the right angle. I know it’s meant to be budget friendly, but I’ve stayed in cheaper motels and hotels with much better conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
