Hampton Inn & Suites Lansing West

We hadn't used Fido before and weren't sure what to expect when it booked us at Hampton Inn, but the stay turned out wonderful. The woman at the front desk and the college student who took over after she left were both kind and helpful. Funny greeted us each time we came in. The pool was clean, the hot tub was wonderful, the rooms were great, and breakfast the next morning was unbelievable. The location was perfect. I can't say enough, this is a great hotel.

The location just off the highway is good, but this Hampton is worn and could use some refurbishing. In our room the sitting bench was beat up, with cracked and peeling vinyl, and the carpet was well worn too. The bathroom was clean, but the caulking around the tub and shower needs replacing. Mirror frames and woodwork were chipped, and the HVAC unit under the window was old school. For the price they're asking, it isn't worth it. I've stayed in better TRU by Hilton rooms for half as much.

The location is great, but there are plenty of other hotels to choose from, and I won't be coming back. The place was dusty, and the indoor carpeted stairs were never cleaned, with spiderwebs and bugs around. There was no body wash, and no chips or vending machine to buy any. I asked twice for sanitizer wipes or spray for the gym, but nothing was done. The employees weren't friendly either.

Everyone on staff we met was friendly, and the free hot breakfast was wonderful. We booked because of the hot tub, so it was disappointing to find it closed for maintenance, apparently for two months already. The pool room was quite cold too.
