The Redwoods In Yosemite

There were 13 of us in 48R, and not one person had a complaint, which is a miracle in a group that size. The place was so spacious, and we loved the patio and well-equipped kitchen. Every cabinet was labeled, and we found everything we needed. Staying in was enjoyable enough that we hardly felt a need to go anywhere. If I return to Yosemite with a large group, I think I'll always want to stay here.

We booked cabin 23b through an auction and were excited for our trip with six people. After unloading, having dinner, and settling in, we found the sheets full of food, crumbs, and mouse droppings. The pullout couches were filthy too. Three of us had to share one bed because there was nowhere else to sleep. Maintenance arrived at 11:40 p.m. and changed the sheets on one bed. He offered to move us to another cabin, but it was almost midnight and we had to leave at 5 a.m. to hike in Yosemite, so moving everything felt like too much. The next day, someone called but wasn't friendly or apologetic. The other three people in our group canceled because they are immunocompromised and didn't want to sleep in beds with mouse droppings. Housekeeping came the following day to clean the pullout beds, but one still had droppings in it afterward. The cabin was generally unclean. It seemed like they had only wiped the counters and put out fresh towels, without changing the linens. Pretty nasty. We gave up and will stay somewhere nicer next time.

After long hikes in the park, it was lovely to come back to this secluded cabin. The deck overlooks a riverbed among huge redwood trees, and a swimming spot on the river is just a short walk away, which was great on hot days. We liked being able to cook indoors or outside on the Blackstone grill or barbecue. The Overlook, Cabin 45, had everything we needed for a great time in Yosemite.

We loved having separate living areas in this spacious standalone cabin, which gave our group room to relax. The porch became our favorite place to unwind after exploring, and the two king beds and gas BBQ grill were handy. We spent four nights in this two-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin, and it exceeded our expectations. The trail to Lower Chilnualna Falls was practically at the doorstep, and the falls were stunning. The cabins are spread out, so we had privacy without feeling isolated. We were inside Yosemite National Park in a peaceful area away from crowds, though Yosemite Valley is about a 40-50 minute drive away. The Redwoods has cabins in different sizes, so it could suit couples or families. We'd happily come back, and would recommend it to anyone wanting comfort while experiencing Yosemite.
