It came to $56.50 a night for two nights after tax. The seasonal pool was filled with sod, and there was no breakfast, plus not many places to eat nearby, so plan ahead. There’s only one USB plug, on the TV, and the room is pretty short on outlets.
The cigarette smell is everywhere, both outside and in the room. The microwave was dirty, and at night the place didn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t come here after dark.
I only stayed long enough to find another room down the road. The cigarette and weed smell hit me as soon as I entered, and I didn’t feel safe or comfortable touching anything. The lamps worked, but gave off very little light, and their shades were filthy and burned by cigarettes. The couch looked like somebody had been shot on it. The mirror had streaks and spots, and there was some white residue around the tub drain, maybe mold or soap scum. The latch was missing, and I wasn’t sure the deadbolt would hold. I couldn’t decide whether I’d be robbed or catch something first.
I was there last October and have been meaning to write this. The front desk was nice at check-in, and the location is convenient, but the room was nasty. The carpet was stained and smelled so bad that I put towels down between the bed and bathroom rather than walk barefoot. The shower curtain and tiles around the tub were covered in mildew or mold. I’m in my mid-70s and hadn’t been sick since I was a teenager. On the 800-mile drive home I started feeling that something was wrong. When I got back, I was extremely weak. I won’t go into details, and I can’t say for sure, but I felt it might have been something from that hotel.
If you have a service dog, know your ADA rights. This establishment tried to charge us $150 for our dog, even though that’s illegal. They made her sleep outside, then kicked us out and refunded us when she barked. Anyone with a real service dog knows how distressing it can be for a dog to be separated from the person it was trained to protect. I plan to file a complaint with the dept of justice. I hope nobody else gets preyed on for having a disability they never asked for. If you stay here, record every interaction you can, since Texas is a one-party consent state. Edit: After seeing similar reports of gross misconduct, I’ll add that company policy doesn’t override federal law.
