Wayne Hotel

We stayed over Thanksgiving and found the rooms well appointed, the bed comfortable, and the staff very accommodating. The location was excellent too. Wayne is a charming town, and the Wayne Hotel was a wonderful place for our stay.

The bartender was entertaining, and we had good conversation over great food at the bar’s “Happy Hour.” A wonderful time.

Breakfast was lovely, with a good pastry selection and tasty syrups for the coffee. We had a relaxing getaway, and having the restaurant right there made it easy to unwind. There was live music in the lobby. It might’ve been nice to have drink service there, but we brought drinks from the bar and sat in a couple of chairs while waiting for our table at Rosalie. The restaurant was very busy, and the staff seemed a bit understaffed and were struggling to keep up.

Room 214. The rugs in the lobby, hall, and rooms were disgusting, and the porch’s wood floor was rotting with a rug thrown over it. In the shower, the floor was lumpy from being painted over so many times, with a nonslip mat covering it. My husband said it wobbled and hurried through his shower because he feared it would give way. The sink was cracked too. Downstairs over morning coffee, we saw ceiling stains that seemed to come from our shower. Someone could fall through one day. The room had so many extension cords that the electrical setup needs updating. I know it’s an old hotel, but come on. The old radiators were pretty cool, about the only nice thing I can say. I was grossed out, and we weren’t confusing it with another hotel, as suggested in response to another bad review. There was nobody to tell at checkout.
