Almost Heaven Bed & Breakfast

We especially loved the Saturday evenings, with beer and wine and marshmallows by the campfire. Patty's breakfasts were varied and always delicious, and the little snack room came in handy between meals or for a late bite. Our room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable, with the bathrooms stocked with what we needed. Rob and Patty were wonderful hosts who exceeded our expectations. Almost Heaven made for an amazing getaway, and we're already looking forward to returning.

We felt like part of Patti and Rob's family after just a few days. They were terrific hosts and ready to help with whatever came up. The porch was a favorite, with rocking chairs and hummingbirds everywhere. Inside, there was a roomy shared living area for TV, puzzles and games, plus a snack room. Our room and bed were just right, with a private bathroom. Breakfast was excellent every day, and they accommodated special dietary requests. They also put out an afternoon snack. Definitely a five-star stay.

The mountain view, flowers, bird feeders, gazebo and several porches made it easy to relax outside. Inside, we loved the antiques, thoughtful decorating and warm feel of Almost Heaven. Patti and Rob knew the area well and gave us useful suggestions and clear directions. We stayed in the Fall room, and the bed was so comfortable. In the morning there was fresh coffee and a terrific breakfast. Those muffins were packed with blueberries and came with lemon curd. We've stayed in plenty of B&Bs over the years, but haven't often had this kind of above-and-beyond care. We can't wait to return.

The house is beautiful, and Patti was so caring, almost like a sister making sure we were comfortable. Breakfast, a three-course meal, came with the stay, served on china and glassware from the house's era, a lovely touch. The front patio was a nice place to chat with other guests if you felt like socializing. Waynesville's downtown, with its quaint shops and good food and beer, was about a half-mile walk away. There are also hiking trails, the Blue ridge parkway, and Asheville nearby, with plenty to do. Great hosts and a memorable visit. We'll be back.
