The bed was comfortable, the clean bedding looked updated, and the floors had been redone. We also had the advertised mountain view, plus a sizeable fridge and microwave. The breakfast was basic, with waffles, cereal, bagels, and honey buns, so we grabbed a few things and stopped at a fast food place on the way out. We needed a low price, pet friendly place for one night around Lake Junaluska and Waynesville, and this one was rated a bit better than others, so it mostly met our needs, though it felt worn. We booked through a third party with points and got a room at the far end. Its door was scuffed, lacked the peephole the others had, and the sliding balcony door didn't lock. For safety, we put a wooden board from outside in the track. The TV took effort to figure out, and there was water damage on the bathroom walls. The pet fee is tiered, $25 for dogs under 40 lbs and $40 for larger ones. On our way out, we saw new doors on the first floor and old ones on the second, so it looked like the hotel was in transition. The road up is steep, and I wouldn't book if it were snowy or icy because it could be treacherous. Even with the wear, it was decent for the price, and we'd stay again if we needed a pet friendly room for one night. Keep expectations low so you're not too surprised or disappointed.

The mountain view porches and wooden rocking chairs were everything! Our rooms were quaint and very clean. The town is close by, but it somehow stays really quiet. I would've liked more reliable, faster Wi-Fi, though the views more than made up for it. Definitely going back!

The rooms were clean and nice, though breakfast was very limited. We were coming from Florida and asked about arriving early. The owner agreed and said he'd waive the fee. The parking lot was empty when we checked in, but after our four-day stay we saw the charge had been put on our card.

The view is exquisite from up on the hill, and the front desk staff were very helpful. The room feels like you get what you pay for: the mattress is hard and the pillows are old. I'm not even going to check for stains or bugs with a black light. Breakfast wasn't exciting, so don't book expecting anything decent. Thumbs up if these comments help guide your decision and visit.

The outside made me worry I'd chosen the wrong hotel when we first arrived, but I changed my mind once we got into the room and settled in. It was renovated and pretty nice. Set on a hill, the place has a view of the city, and our balcony had two rocking chairs. It was perfect for a short vacation.
