We paid $201 for a room that’s now listed at $84, and it was filthy. A musty smell hit us as soon as we walked in. The second bed was in an awkward connected space, and opening the interior door let out an even stronger mildew stink. The AC made it worse because some of the odor came from the unit. We left the windows open for hours. That only made the smell barely tolerable, and it never went away completely. The sheets at least smelled clean, but the room’s stench clung to everything. There was mildew on the shower curtain, the toilet kept hissing because its chain was taped up, and the microwave was crusted with old food. Nothing about this place was okay. I wouldn’t stay here again even if they paid me.

Our room was dingy and smelled awful. The staff did help us move to their other motel, Hi Lo motel.

The room was initially fine, but the floors were so filthy I had to wash my feet after walking around in it. I’d first blamed the dirt on going out to my car, but that wasn’t it. Whoever cleans was lazy, and management should be checking. The room was below a spot where two newer motor homes and another that looked lived in were parked. The café was a mess. I had to listen to a story about partying until 4 a.m., they were out of meat loaf and French dip, and eventually I got a chicken sandwich and a salad from a salad bar that wasn’t set up. They didn’t have the Rose on the menu, and she thought a Moscow mule was made with brandy. I passed and got an 805 beer. Her black eye wasn’t all that impressive. She was sweet, but I didn’t need all the extra when it was 110 degrees outside. I took the sandwich to my room, couldn’t use my discount beverage tickets or coffee tokens, and left at 5 in the morning. Friendly people, but a pretty sad setup. I won’t be back.

The manager let us bring our small dog for a $15 cash fee, and they had a room available. Those were the upsides. We paid $100 for one night, and should’ve gone to the next town for a motel. We only stopped here because motel 6 had no hot water or heat, and we couldn’t face another three hours of driving home. Lesson learned. Our room was freezing and smelled like dirty feet and stale smoke. The heater and AC were mounted so high that we had to stand on a rolling office chair to turn them on. First I had to pull out the dirty filter and clean the front, which was packed with lint. The bathroom had no ventilation, so everything stayed damp. The tiled floor was freezing, and the only way to warm it was to run the shower hot for a while. The swollen door was hard to close, there was hair on the wall, and the floor was very dirty.

I walked into the office at 9 p.m. with no reservation, tired from driving and needing somewhere to sleep. The two people at the front desk were genuine and welcoming, and after checking in I wanted to leave a review. Five stars. This motel isn’t new, and it’s aged, but they remodel as needed. I can see good people doing their best and making improvements. I’ve saved it as a favorite on Google Maps. See you on my next trip, and thanks 🙏
