Motel 6 Wells

For the price, it was a fair deal, and I'd consider staying again, though I'd check other options first. The Sharon Motel had great reviews but was full. Sher E Punjabi Dhaba is a block away and I recommend the Indian food there. This is an older motel, but the room was generally pretty clean. No bugs, the linens and shower were clean, and the heater worked. The shower got hot enough after about 20 seconds, although the water flow was weak. I didn't use the AC. Trains nearby were just barely audible, and I never noticed the truck noise others mentioned. There were quite a few small problems: one light fixture didn't work, the sink was visibly dirty with bits stuck to it, and there were no coat hangers. The AC/heater dust filters were clogged, so I cleaned them. The toilet stopped flushing when its flapper chain came loose, and I fixed it. An outlet by the desk was too worn for my phone charger to work properly, and the mini-fridge freezer was frosted over. I also thought there weren't any water cups until I found them in the ice bucket on top of the coat rack. I initially assumed the bathroom light was in the shower stall, then found the touch screen switch built into the mirror.

The shower was really odd. There were also no hangers at all, and no cable or satellite, just analog TV. The landscaping is dirt, and the bath fan is loud. It comes on whenever the bath light is switched on. The rate on Agoda was the lowest, and both the heater and the location were surprisingly quiet. But the recent remodel looks rushed and poorly done, as if the person working on it lacked construction skills. There are photos. It does look like someone is still working on the place, so maybe it'll improve.

The area was noisy, with truckers parking across the street. The person at the counter was talking extremely loudly to someone checking in right outside my window. When our TV wouldn't work, he made us wait while he finished his cigarette, even though he was sitting just outside our room by the office. The sheets were heavily stained, there was no ice maker, and the bar of soap had already been opened and used.

I travel through here for work several times a month, and I won't do business with this hotel again. They may cancel a third-party reservation, keep the payment, then push you to book directly at a higher price. They tell you to call the manager to sort it out, but the manager doesn't seem to answer. Save yourself the hassle and choose another hotel. Integrity matters in business.
