We chose Drakes Island Resort because we needed a pet friendly place while visiting Wells for a family event, and the price was among the most reasonable in the area. We booked early in the year and got helpful communication as we made plans. On departure day, they texted to confirm our stay. Traffic meant we'd arrive after business hours, so they kindly got the room ready for us. The room was clean, roomy, and just right for us. Wi-Fi was a little spotty, but we were out most of the time, so it wasn't a problem. Since we left before the office opened, we put the keys in the lockbox by the entrance, then got an email confirming they'd received them and thanking us. We wish the weather had been better so we could have explored more of the property. The stay was very pleasant, the rates were reasonable for the area, and we'd recommend it to anyone visiting Maine's southern coast with a pet. We'd stay again if we needed a place in the area.

Chelsea was so sweet and accommodating, and the rooms were spotless and really cute. It's in a great spot, with beaches and shops nearby. We had such a nice little getaway, and I've already told lots of people about it. Looking forward to coming back.

Cottage 14 at Drake Island Resort was just right for two people and our dog. It was clean and comfortable, and the king bed was so cozy. Having a dog park was a nice bonus. We had a great time and will definitely return.

We love the pet friendly feel at Drakes, and even the train sounds sweet to us. This was our second visit, and both stays have been wonderful. Chelsey and the staff are amazing. We think of them as friends and can't wait to see them again. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We picked up a sweatshirt and mug at the office, and also bought a neat dustpan made by a young man saving for his dream truck. Happy to support that. The cafe is really tasty too, with nice people. Thanks, Drakes. We'll be back soon. Stay safe and happy until then.

The cottage was very clean, and Chelsey was lovely with us. We stayed with our two dogs and had an awesome time overall. On an extremely hot day the air conditioner couldn't keep up, though. I'd suggest adding cameras at the dog park so people can be monitored, since we ended up cleaning up after other dogs. We'd stay again.
