The Cottages At Summer Village

We managed to book at the last minute, and the staff at Summer Village were so kind, quick to respond, and accommodating. The grounds are kept beautifully, and we had a great time with family and friends. Thanks for a lovely vacation!

I keep coming back to Summer Village and have stayed in several months, from May and June to September and October. Sometimes I travel with my husband, and I’ve also gone on my own. As a woman traveling solo, I feel completely safe there. I usually choose #225 because it's handy for walking to the adult pool. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped, and lets me cook when I want. Since I've returned to the same one, I've noticed the owner's improvements over the years. I love the surrounding area and expect I'll be back many more times.

The location makes it easy to spend time in Ogunquit, Wells Beach, or Kennebunk, whether the day calls for the beach or something to do in cooler, cloudy weather. On the property, we used two of the three well kept pools, plus the tennis and pickleball courts. The third pool was farther from our cottage. Kids loved the trolley, which came around often, and despite the cottages being close together, the place felt calm with little car traffic. This was our third visit to Summer Village, and it matched our first two trips in 2022 and 2023. Our cottage was clean, check in was simple, and we got in on time. I’d read some recent complaints after our August stay and wanted to share that my experience was quite different. We recommend it and plan to return next August.

BRING BACK MELANIE! I've been coming to Summer village since I was a kid, and now I bring my own kids. The current general manager and board members don't seem to care. During my July stay, the swings were broken, there were no events, check in took three hours, the cottage was dirty, and pools were closed. I sent several families here over the years, but I can't recommend it as a family resort anymore. The GM wouldn't talk with me all week about the long list of problems. Just minutes before checkout, she finally said I'd get a refund for the three hour check in delay. I later found it was never processed, and she hasn't responded to my follow ups. I also just heard a staff member left after 18 years, apparently with no regard from the board. Word travels fast, and people at the pools share the same view. For what they charge now, you could rent a house near Disney in Florida for a week. Find somewhere else, folks.
