Vali-Ho Motel

I needed an inexpensive room for a quick stay, so I booked through a major site I use regularly. The listing photos were misleading. At arrival, the man directed me away from the lobby to a drive-up window, something I’d never encountered when booking a place. Driving around, I noticed boards nailed across the bottom of some doors, and the drained pool was full of old chairs and furniture. I told the man at the window I didn’t feel safe, and he said to cancel the room. When the booking company contacted them about canceling, they refused to give my money back. I asked if he owned the place, but he said I didn’t need to know. This place felt unsavory and is definitely somewhere I wouldn’t want to stay. Stay away!

I was very pleased with the privacy and the room size for the price. The AC kept up in the heat, and though the sheets and pillows looked old, they didn’t smell horrible. I’m planning to come back in April.

Check-in was easy even though we arrived late Friday night. The next day we went out for breakfast, and when we came back, someone had been in our rooms. Our AC units and mini fridge had been turned off, including the fridge holding food and medication that needed to stay cold. Some of our things were missing, too. When we confronted the owner, he acted as if he had no idea what we meant. It was really upsetting. We had no privacy.

We came across several roaches while staying here, so I wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone. On top of that, someone approached me in the parking lot asking if I wanted drugs.
